Information on the use of cookies
Pursuant to article 13 of EU Regulation no. 679/2016 of 27 April 2016 (relating to the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data) and the provision of the Personal Data Protection Authority concerning "Identification of simplified methods for the information and acquisition of consent for the use of cookies – 8 May 2014" and the Cookie guidelines and other tracking tools of the Personal Data Protection Authority of 10 June 2021, Progest Spa (hereinafter also Company) provides the following information about the use of cookies on its website www.progestspa.it (hereinafter the "Website")
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that the websites visited by the user send to the terminal used by the user to access the Internet (usually the browser), where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same websites on the next visit by the same user. Cookies cannot be used to retrieve any data from the hard disk, transmit computer viruses or identify and use email addresses. Every cookie is unique in relation to the browser and the device used to access the Website. Cookies can be installed by the operator of the website that the user is visiting (so-called "first-party cookies") or by other websites (so-called "third-party cookies"). Cookies can be stored on the user's device permanently until they expire or until they are deleted by the user (so-called "permanent cookies") or they can be automatically deleted whenever the website navigation is interrupted when the browser gets closed (so-called "session cookies").
What are cookies used for?
Cookies are generally used for various purposes, such as allowing navigation between pages of a website efficiently, applying user preferences and, more generally, improving navigation by the user thanks to the customisation of the website based on the user's navigation habits and profile. Cookies can also help to make the advertisements viewed by online users more in line with the users and their interests.
Type of cookies
Technical cookies
Technical cookies are used for the sole purpose of "transmitting a communication over an electronic communication network, or insofar as is strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to supply such a service"
Navigation or session cookies
These cookies guarantee the normal navigation and use of the Website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate for access to customer areas).
Analytics cookies
These cookies are similar to technical cookies to the extent they are used directly by the website operator to gather aggregated information about the number of users and how they visit the Website.
Functionality cookies
These cookies allow users to browse the website based on selected criteria (e.g., products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to them.
Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are designed to create user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown by the user browsing the internet. These Company or third party cookies are carefully selected and controlled and are used to ensure that the marketing messages received through the Website or other websites used to convey their advertising messages are appropriate to the visitor's preferences. Our advertising policy is designed to provide relevant messages, based on previous visits to the Website, the most frequently visited pages and other visitor data. For the use of these cookies, the prior consent of the user is required; the user can modify the preferences expressed regarding advertising or targeting cookies through the browser settings at any time. It is recommended that the user read the privacy policy regarding the protection of personal data in order to learn more about how the user's personal data is processed in these cases.
